Mostly agree with John's sentiments below, however I do believe there would be value in expanding the invites beyond the council, to include a minimal set of SG/C leaders. Chairs & Co-Chairs.

Thanks-

J.

Jonathan,

I believe, particularly after the session in Singapore, that this meeting is being over-architected.

Its purpose is to reconvene at the end of Constituency Day to confer on whether there are changes to what we thought/heard in the weekend session that might affect our public session on Wednesday.

I don't think we need to make a big deal out of it, certainly not expand the quest list beyond the Council and not take up more than 30 minutes to do our work, unless there is some really out-of-left-field event that undoes our plan for the public session.

Now, I will not turn down free food and drink if that is the approach we take, but more than that, we need all to attend so as to have confidence built into our Wednesday agenda.

My two cents.

Berard

All,

I thought it may be helpful to clarify or remind of the purpose of this event. The objective is to create an informal forum where GNSO Councillors can come together after the SG / Constituency meetings on a Tuesday in order to permit effective cross-GNSO discussion of complex or contentious issues, particularly when such discussion may improve the quality or effectiveness of the Council's work. The Council facilitating such discussion seems entirely appropriate.

Clearly, the value is in creating an environment where productive and meaningful discussion can take place, including attempting to resolve challenging / contentious issues where necessary. It seems to me that we could do with effective participation but not make it too large a group. Therefore, we should invite the leadership teams of the various GNSO groups / constituencies to participate.

As ever, any feedback or input is welcome.

Jonathan
