Dear Councilors,

As you may recall, the GNSO Council was responsible for running an Expressions of Interest (EOI) process to identify and select Edmon Chung as chair for the EPDP on Internationalized Domain Names. With Edmon having been appointed to the ICANN Board of Directors and taking up his seat at the upcoming AGM, he will step down as chair of the EPDP on IDNs. As such, a new Expressions of Interest process was just announced today <https://www.icann.org/en/announcements/details/call-for-expressions-of-interest-chair-of-epdp-internationalized-domain-names-1-9-2021-en> to identify the new chair of the EPDP on IDNs. If you’re able to share this information with your respective SG/Cs, it would be appreciated.

The EPDP team will also be informed of the opening of this EOI process.
