[council] ICANN74 GAC Communique

All,

I would like a 5 minute agenda item on the next call about this topic.  A Board member reached out to me and let me know that because they respond to
"Issues of Importance" in the GAC Communique, that Council feedback on these issues would be helpful.  I have asked that Board member if they could send that note to the Council list or if I could forward it directly.  But until I get such permission, I will leave it there for now.

Dear Councilors,

If only to confirm and wrap this up: given the absence of response to Jeff's question, there will be no comment on the ICANN 74 GAC Communiqué and its "issues of importance".

I would also note that this is in line with our approach of reviewing the commmuniqués , which we discussed in 2001, of responding only to Advice - with a view to referring to on-going/past Council or GNSO work.

Typically, the GNSO Council only prepares a response to the Communique when there is GAC Consensus Advice to the Board included in the document. For ICANN74, there is no Advice. Unless instructed otherwise, the staff team will assume it is not necessary to convene a small group this time around.
