As noted during the wrap up meeting, a substantive review of the items listed as well as the next steps suggested will follow. For now, the staff support team is in particular looking for input on the following questions:

  1.  Does the tracker provide the expected information for Council to consider and keep track of the different proposed improvements? If not, what is missing?
  2.  At the suggestion of Council members an entry for “impact” has been added. Council to identify who/how to determine impactfullness of each proposed improvement – is this referring to impact on the PDP, impact on resources, a combination of both or something else?
  3.  As not all improvements are solely within the remit of Council, what is the best way to consult with the broader GNSO community, and possibly beyond that, about this approach and how to enable regular consultation / input?
  4.  How often should review / updates be planned for?
  5.  Where should this information be housed – GNSO wiki?
  6.  How much time is needed for the Council to consider these above questions that need to be addressed before the first substantive review can commence?

Item 4: COUNCIL VOTE - Final Report and Recommendations From the EPDP on Specific Curative Rights Protections for IGOs

Action Items: With respect to the Final Report and Recommendations From the EPDP on Specific Curative Rights Protections for IGOs, the GNSO Secretariat, on behalf of the GNSO Council, to send a note thanking the EPDP leadership team and the members of the EPDP team for their commitment and hard work in completing the policy work on this long-standing issue within the GNSO.

Item 5: COUNCIL DISCUSSION - Impact of SSAD Light on Other Work

Action Items: GNSO Council leadership to develop a draft letter to the ICANN Board for GNSO Council review concerning the impact of SSAD light on other work, specifically the SubPro ODP, encouraging the Board to move forward with both efforts to the extent possible.

Item 6: COUNCIL DISCUSSION - SubPro GGP

Action Items: GNSO Council leadership to revise the GGP per the discussion during the ICANN74 GNSO Council meeting and draft a motion for the GNSO Council to review and consider it for a vote at the July Council meeting.

Item 7: COUNCIL DISCUSSION - SubPro ODP Update

Action Items: Staff to invite interested Councilors to join a call to discuss Jeff Neuman’s suggested responses to SubPro Question Set #4 and to develop a final draft response for Council review.

Item 8: COUNCIL DISCUSSION - Closed Generics Small Team

Action Items: GNSO Council leadership to convey the Closed Generics Small Team’s recommendations to the GAC and the Board.

Item 9: COUNCIL DISCUSSION - GNSO PDP Improvements - Tracking and Coordination Discussion Paper

Action Items: Deferred to the GNSO Council Wrap Up Session on 16 June.  See below.

4. GAC Communique - GNSO response

Action Items: GNSO Council leadership to convene a  small team to develop the GNSO response to the GAC Communique.
