[council] Council nomination for the ICANN Academy Leadership Program

Dear all,

Thanks to Mark and Manju for expressing interest in the ICANN Academy Leadership Program. Unfortunately, there is just one slot available for a Council nomination. At the same time, there are more slots available to GNSO participants. The BC, IPC, ISPCP, NCSG, NCUC, NPOC, RrSG, and RySG are each invited to nominate one individual.

Mark and Manju, might it be possible for you to check with your respective groups to see if you might be eligible for a slot through them? If one of you can receive a nomination through you group, the other can take the Council seat. If that is not possible, Council leadership will need to determine the best way forward.

Anne raises a good point.

Volunteers and moving to leadership positions are the lifeblood of this community.

I support Mark, but I think it is important that Manju also gets a slot.
And perhaps this is my personal observation, but the pandemic wreaked havoc on our community.
As such we need more effort to invest in it.

Getting people into leadership positions is a no-brainer for me.

The GNSO Council will soon have the opportunity to nominate one individual to participate.  In addition, the BC, IPC, ISPCP, NCSG, NCUC, NPOC, RrSG, and RySG will each be invited to nominate one individual.
