Specifically, the deal will be good for ISOC's finances. There are numerous
arguments that can be made of how the move actually runs counter to the
ISOC mission and ethics.

ISOC may not be directly in the domain name business but neither is it in
the business of setting Internet standards. But it is in the
resource-stewardship business, of not only PIR but also IETF.
