[Gnso-dmpm-wg] Implementation of WG Adopted Recommendations

WG Members,

 

I wanted to provide you an update with the implementation of the DMPM
recommendations since the GNSO Council approved them last October in Dublin.

 

1)      The formal templates for Issue Report, Charter, WG Reports, and
Public Comment Review Tool have been deployed:

a.       You will also find within the Charter and WG Report templates the
placement of the reusable recommendation to facilitate the use of data and
metrics either in issue development or measurement of policy effectiveness
after implementation

2)      The GNSO Operating procedures
(http://gnso.icann.org/en/council/op-procedures-16feb16-en.pdf) have been up
updated with:

a.       The new process (Annex 1, Section 4.5) for requesting Data &
Metrics including the request Form; this also includes pointers to the

b.      Un update to the Products & Outputs (Annex 1, Section 5) with more
current and accurate links to prior GNSO work products.  Note that once the
GNSO completes a full WG cycle, this section will be updated to show use of
the new work product templates.  IRTP-D was chosen as it contained virtually
all work product types developed within the policy process.

c.       An update to Annex 2, Section 9 that refers to early WG outreach

3)      The submission of a FY17 Community Budget Request to help fund the
Data & Metrics pilot effort.  The requests are yet to be posted on the
Community Finance wiki, but the GNSO Council Leadership is aware of the
submission as it is formally requested by the GNSO Council
(http://gnso.icann.org/mailing-lists/archives/council/msg18115.html).  

a.       The above message contains a link with greater details of
deliverables of the pilot effort through FY17

b.      Staff will provide future updates to this request as the budget
process milestones are achieved.

c.       Staff will continue implementation of the pilot effort and closely
facilitate this new request process as requests are created within the
SGs/Cs and/or WGs and eventually submitted to the GNSO Council for
consideration.
