Hi Marc (and everyone):
Thanks for your suggestions and eloquent explanation. I have taken a couple days to respond in order to conclude a pre-planned call with CBI where we discussed how best to administrate the meeting - in order to best determine how to incorporate Adobe Connect into the meeting.
Here is where we are on this.
The Adobe Connect room will be open so Amr and others frustrated by the visa process can attend whenever they are able.
Regarding the queue: I discussed this in some detail with CBI and the support team. You will be able to register a place in the queue. However, in an effort to create an effective dialogue, we will reserve a right to alter the queue in cases where it seems that would be beneficial to the discussion. I think Gina and David did this effectively during the Los Angeles meeting. We ran into trouble in the latter Barcelona meeting where I was left to manage the queue, which I did not do well. CBI is there to facilitate our progress and I wish to give them some latitude in managing the queue.
Regarding the chat: It will be available. Again, I believe CBI will rely heavily on oral participation rather than type-written comments. I agree with that approach.
We did discuss a place where chat might be particularly effective. In certain circumstances we might want to memorialize certain opinions or comments on issues to be closed where it would be more expeditious to record those comments in chat rather than taking time to have them presented orally.
