[ICANN Academy WG] PILOT - ICANN Leadership Training Programme in Buenos Aires

I think this idea is worthwhile to consider. Personally I see 1 advantage
and 1 disadvantage.

Advantage: Current leaders might be more busy especially prior to the ICANN
meeting than incoming leaders, which have not taken their seat jet. I see a
greater benefit for these group of people in the soft skill training. So the
chance for them to participate 2 days only is higher and probably better if
it is closer to the actual meeting (2 days before) As stated already by
others, 4 additional days is quite a lot.

Disadvantage: For balancing reason and to foster the exchange of experiences
it will be a loss if current leaders will not participate in the orientation
programme. Then the discussion will remain quite theoretical.

But this is my personal assumption and I might be wrong here. The pilot will
show how it works out finally. However I will find out if the switch is
generally possible.

Hi,

I do not know what other constraints there might be on scheduling, but this
is an interesting idea.

One of the things I felt lacking was time for people to follow up on both
the OL training and the face to face sessions with questions and free
ranging conversation.

Having the substantive sessions before the methods sessions would leave
people a chance to discuss in their free time as well as perhaps even use
some of the topics from the substantive training in the models training -
which I understand will have role playing and other assorted exercises.

Then again as I said, the scheduling may be locked by other considerations
at this point.
