[ICANN Academy WG] Meeting in Montreal - ACTION / assignment of community facilitators for the LP

Hi Sandra,

Whereas I naturally have no issue with the choice of facilitators, I would
not 2 considerations

1) I would caution against the use of attended the meeting as an indicator,
considering we all know how difficult clashes of ICANN meeting, are
especially for those who are on PDPs and Ex Comms for specific SG/AC/SOs,
who after all are those to whom the course should be aimed, and from whom
the attendees can most learn.

2) I personally believe that the balance should be across all participants,
attendees and facilitators to ensure maximum cross pollination for the
community e.g. noting that the entire CPH have 2 attendee slots (please
correct me if I am wrong on that), I do think that where possible the
addition of a CPH facilitator would give more of a well rounded
interaction in break out sessions across the 2 day event.

Clearly this is but one opinion; however my own experience was that the
main benefit of this course, was the ability to appreciate the point of
view of those who are usually perceived to be not necessary aligned, or
even traditionally at odds, in the ongoing community work, therefore
encouraging additional cross CPH / NCPH et al discussion should be
maximized.

Warmest regards,

Alan
