Thanks, Amy,

Your response was relevant to my question. I guess, as you said, there will be opportunity to discuss the change process at Wednesday’s meeting,

Nigel C.

Hi Nigel,

Discussing the SLA change process is on the next meeting’s agenda. I believe that in writing this process, the CSC, PTI and ICANN referred to this section from the CSC’s Charter:

The CSC, in consultation with the IANA Functions Operator, will develop procedures for changing service levels including the removal of existing service levels or the inclusion of new service levels. These procedures will be commensurate with the type of the service level change being proposed. Informing the registry operators about proposed changes shall always be required; however, the type of service level change will determine whether it is necessary to conduct a community-wide consultation. The procedures may be updated from time to time, and will only become effective after publication of the process on the CSC webpage, and after informing the ccNSO Council and RySG, the direct customers.

Community-wide consultation is done through the Public Comment process, and where it was logical, the CSC, PTI and ICANN felt approval from the GNSO and ccNSO Councils was necessary.

If I did not understand your question, please let me know.

Regards,
Amy

I’m generally ok with the draft, Amy.

Something just occurring to me though. Was it required for the gNSO Council to approve the new ccTLD-related metrics?
