Apologies as I will have to be in another meeting at this time today. I am up to date on the revised workflow and support that work and further discussion on the issues that have been outlined.

As previously mentioned, I believe these steps are needed to help meet Sub Pro Final Report Recommendation 29.1 which provides that ICANN MUST develop a name collision risk assessment analysis prior to the next round.
In the 2012 round, legacy 90-day controlled interruption was actually used as a mitigation tool, alerting the end user to the collision. We are not at the mitigation phase yet. In my view, we are trying to develop an assessment tool that ICANN can use to assess Impact by assessing Volume and Diversity of name collisions for a particular string. As I understand it, after the initial test, the proposed Technical Review Committee can make a recommendation to the Board regarding proceeding to Enhanced Controlled Interruption.

I’ll try to catch up on the meeting using meeting notes.
Thank you,
Anne

Anne E. Aikman-Scalese
