During your last plenary call #50 <https://community.icann.org/x/XwFcC>,
Raoul Plommer asked in the chat what is the status of the *GAC Working
Group on GAC Participation in NomCom*, which we marked as an action item: *“In
the NomCom review assessment report
<https://community.icann.org/display/OR/Assessment+Report?preview=/74588753/77529681/Independent%20Review%20of%20the%20ICANN%20Nominating%20Committee%20-%20Assessment%20Report.pdf>
that
was published in 2018, it says that "traditionally the GAC has not
appointed a person to the NomCom. A GAC working group is currently
evaluating if, and how, the GAC can participate in the NomCom."*.



We contacted Olga Cavalli (chair of the GAC Working Group on GAC
Participation in NomCom) who provided the answers below. These answers were
confirmed by Manal Ismail (GAC chair).

   1. *Is the GAC Working Group on GAC Participation in NomCom still
   active?*

*WG is active but due to the more limited agendas in the last virtual
meetings WG did not organize a special meeting. *



   1. *What were the results of its evaluation?*



*There are always different views from different GAC representatives. GAC
only can make decisions by consensus and there are still some GAC
representatives who are reluctant to fill the seat in NomCom due to
confidentiality concerns and other issues. *



   1. *Were their conclusions (if any) different from the input submitted
   by the GAC on 1st February 2020 (see attached)?*



*No , conclusions are the same. This document is correct. *
