VeriSign to Sell Most of Network Solutions

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Internet security and Web address company VeriSign Inc.
on Thursday said it will sell most of its Network Solutions unit to Pivotal
Private Equity for $100 million in cash and notes to focus on its Internet
and telecommunications services businesses.

VeriSign will get $60 million in cash and a $40 million subordinated note
and will retain a 15 percent stake in Network Solutions.
