Hi

I share the following information about the new office powerpoint tool.

We refer to Presentation Translator, capable of offering subtitles or
translating the text of a presentation in real time without altering the
original.

In its current state, the service is able to translate from Arabic,
Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian
and Spanish. The add-on focuses on translation, but the same service could
be used to add subtitles to a presentation to a hearing impaired audience.

This project, which has been developed in Microsoft Garage, requires an
access request to be able to test it. You can register from this link
<https://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/3530821/Translator-Add-in-Sign-Up>, and
later you will receive access to the previous one, which is now closed.

The add-on is powered by Microsoft Translator Live and is, in short, an
example of how these services covered by artificial intelligence are
reaching productivity applications.

At the moment, according to The Next Web
<https://thenextweb.com/microsoft/2017/05/10/powerpoint-can-now-translate-your-presentations-on-the-fly/>,
Microsoft claims that 100 million Office 365 users have signed up for the
previous closed. An application like this could be very important for users
of the cloud version of Office.

For now, apart from your announcement and that the registration for the
pre-order is already open, there is not much more information. It will
still have to wait to see how it works, how it integrates with Microsoft
Powerpoint and how users receive it.
