I am currently reaching out to ccTLDs in the African Region encouraging them
to join and contribute to the ccNSO. Whenever i have the opportunity to
attend ICANN meetings , this process becomes much easier.
I actively participate in a number of working groups namely the Strategic and
Operational Planning Committee, the meetings working group and lately the New
gTLD Subsequent Procedures Sub Team Track 5 on Geographic Names which i
joined recently after the call from the ccNSO. I am also a member of the
meetings working group.
Additional relevant information:
On behalf of Africa Top Level Domains Organization, i would like to thank the
selection committee for the support i received to attend ICANN 60. The travel
support allowed us to engage with our members on the importance of actively
participating in the ccNSO. AFTLD had more than 10 meetings with its sponsors
and partners geared towards way of improving the Regions support and
Financial contribution to the ccNSO including its commitees like TLD OPS
which cited low participation (48 %) from the Region.
