I appreciate the sentiment but would counter that IRIS was a failure not a success because it was intended to deliver on a set of requirements that were never agreed by the community.  I would not want us to repeat that mistake.  

To be clear, I am not saying that IRIS is bad technology, just that it introduced a new set of features hardly anybody wanted to implement.

If this presentation is in the nature of a lessons learned discussion then that would be useful.
