Cher Justin,

Merci pour ton soutien pour la création de l’office.
Le mois de février va être déterminant puisque le sous-groupe doit trouver un consensus sur cette proposition.
La réitération de votre soutien durant ce mois sera décisif !

Encore merci,
Dalila

Dear Dalila,

This is to support your proposal for the creation of the Diversity Office which could fulfill among others the duties of collection of reliable data. This will be the only way to have data on diversity from a source officially established and recognized within ICANN ecosystem.

Actually I didn’t find any added value of "Lightning Talk on Diversity (LTD)” document compared to AFNIC survey, instead LTD at some points contained some confusing and inaccurate information ( refer to my previous email below).

Subject: RE: [Ws2-diversity] Fwd: Diversity Data Sources

Dear Fiona,

Thank you for sharing with us the statistics about diversity within ICANN ecosystem.
Therefore I have some comments:
What was the rationale of combining NA and LAC regions (77%) in the pie graph with regards to ICANN personnel while NA and LAC were defined as different regions in the same PowerPoint presentation?

GAC leadership : AF = 20% seems to be inaccurate.

Dear Renata,

Concerning your first question, the proposition is based on the AFNIC survey. For instance, this survey is the first analysis and should be completed to bring more details on the counting.
For the second question, we haven’t yet any data on this point.
To complete theses data, an important and long term work should be initiated. That is why we have proposed the creation of the Diversity Office with one of the missions will be the collection of reliable data.

Best,

Dalila

Hi

Thank you so much for sharing this material. I'm very interested and surprised by some of the points presented. Please allow some questions/observations.

* While the importance of regional diversity in a country by country analysis was presented, was there a suggestion of a process for this?
I'm thinking counting population, territory or any other variables?
For instance underpopulated areas having weight as well as urban?

* 80% of leadership is native speaker of Eng. Do we have how to predict where the non-native leadership comes from? Groups w translation or not?

Pls. See these just as thoughts if no answer and once more, great material.
