[Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] NO to price increases and Verisign registrar

We find it very concerning that Verisign will be allowed to increase the wholesale price to registrars for .COM domains by 7% each year in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023, and further after that. This rate of increase makes no sense and will harm the accessibility of .COM domains by the less affluent, as the price increases will naturally be passed on in full to the customers of the registrars. And we demand to know where this extra money is going to be spent.

That this decision was made behind closed doors with Verisign is concerning. That the new contract will allow Verisign to operate its own registrar smells of illegal collusion. It violates the ICANN multistakeholder model.
