[Gac-gnso-cg] Mikey's unofficial, unedited notes from today's teleconference

Many thanks Mikey for volunteering to take notes of yesterday's call and
for sending them so quickly !!

 

We, Jonathan and I, would like to particularly highlight the following
urgent actions, for those who were not on the call yesterday:

 

-          The deadline for submitting comments on the charter was
agreed to be next Friday, Jan. 10th 

-          Call for volunteers to lead 2 tracks of work, GAC-GNSO
day-to-day cooperation & GAC Early Engagement in GNSO PDP .. Both agreed
to work in parallel with 2 different leads and the participation of the
entire group

 

Looking forward to receiving comments and welcoming volunteers ..

+ - Highlight the problem of "different working methods" 

		*	Hard to maintain the current "episodic" norm 
		*	Matching GAC working methods with the current
process 
		*	+ - Amplify in "what it problem to be solved" --
perhaps add to a different section as well 

			*	Appears in Chronology section 
			*	Appears in Objectives -- perhaps
clarify/amplify here 

		*	Taking the Joint Report as a given -- presuming
that there's agreement 

Title - GAC-GNSO Consultation Group on GAC Early Engagement in Policy
Development Processes 

Should "Who will be affected...." change to "Who is impacted by this
issue and proposals resulting from this consultation group"? 

Clarify timeline 

Clarify whether this is a one-time effort, or an ongoing iterative
project 

+ - Stakeholders: 

		*	Iron out the differences between staff structure
-- include Secretariats 
		*	Anyone interested in gtld policy -- explicitly
mention GAC and GNSO 

+ - Out Scope 

		*	Timely exchange of information 
		*	Delete the phrase from "out of scope"? 

 

*	+ - 3. Way forward - work plan from here 

	*	Approach in the charter is OK - two tracks w/leaders,
work as a single group 

 

*	+ - 4. Practical issues including meeting times 

	*	Time of day works 
	*	Meeting *dates* are more difficult -- maybe the focus of
the Doodle poll?

	*	All - review and propose edits -- by Friday this week 
	*	Charter group - finalize draft for next meeting 
	*	All - consider volunteering to lead one of the 2 tracks
of work
