Dear all,
Although we cannot yet confirm the details, staff thought it would be helpful for your scheduling and travel planning to let you know that we have requested the following slot at the upcoming ICANN58 Public Meeting in Copenhagen:

· Wednesday 15 March 2017 (13.45 – 15.00 local time): Open community session to discuss our Preliminary Recommendations and public comments received to date, as well as additional community feedback

As many of you know, ICANN meeting schedules are very tightly packed, but in requesting this session we have tried to avoid clear conflicts as best we can. For instance, we have been informed that this will not conflict with the GAC’s joint meeting with the ICANN Board or the GAC-GNSO dialogue on Red Cross and IGO protections. Our requested session will, however, run across from the GAC Communique drafting session (which typically takes up all afternoon and even the evening), but we hope that the IGO representatives who will be present in Copenhagen will be able to attend.
As is the case with all Working Group sessions at ICANN Public Meetings, our session will be open to anyone to attend, and will be recorded and transcribed. For those who will not be participating in person in Copenhagen, there will be remote participation via an Adobe Connect virtual meeting room, live audio stream and telephone bridge (though please note that these will be in the “ICANN meeting format” and so will have different set ups than our weekly calls – we will send out these details closer to the meeting date).

Lastly, don’t forget the webinar next Tuesday, 7 February at 1400 UTC, where Phil and Petter will be presenting our preliminary recommendations! While it’s certainly not necessary for Working Group members to attend since you are already familiar with the work, please circulate the announcement to those in your network who you think may be interested: https://www.icann.org/news/announcement-2-2017-01-27-en.

Thanks and cheers
Mary
