Try to find that online though. In most cases, you have to physically 
move yourself to the land register office and request to see the

The best example, yet also not fully digital everywhere and even where

Are they though? Most users will not know what whois is or won't bother 
to check. As a European, having actual contact information on an easy to 
find place on the website itself has pretty much become the "Gold 
Standard". It is the law to publish this data on commercial websites, so 
there is not actual need for the  data in the whois as well.

I think the "we have always done it this way" approach is one that we 
are trying to get away from.
