Sticking with 2 weeks is ok by me, I just suspected that the extension period overlapping the holidays might have needed more time.

I understand why it would not work out, which turns out to be the same rationale for the extended extension - those last two weeks of the year are challenging to schedule things around - with good reason.

Thank you for your helpful comments.  Staff has reviewed the timing of the 21 January GNSO Council meeting, at which the candidate for the Liaison position would be considered given that with any extension it will be too late to be considered at the December Council meeting.  Unfortunately, considering the timing of the holidays at the end of December, if we extend the call until 23 December the SSC would not likely be able to begin its evaluation until the beginning of January.  Depending on the number of EOIs, it might not be possible for the SSC to complete its evaluation in time for the January Council meeting.

Thus, staff suggests a 2-week extension at this time.  We have checked with the GNSO Council leadership and they are supportive of a 2-week extension.

We’ll get a revised call for EOIs and candidate application materials out to the community later today.

First, the status update: As of the deadline yesterday, no Expressions of Interest (EOIs) have been received for candidates for the GNSO Non-Registry Liaison to the Customer Standing Committee (CSC).  There was one person who requested additional time to submit an application.

Second, given the lack of candidates, Carlton and Sophie suggest that the SSC should request from the GNSO Council leadership a two-week extension for the call for EOIs.  If there are no objections to an extension, on behalf of the SSC staff will ask the GNSO Council leadership for an extension.
