Hi Azhar,

I appreciate your diligence in bringing to our attention, upon reviewing
the information you provided, it seems that the issue raised is of serious
concern. The longevity of working group chairs and vice chairs along with
UA ambassadors without a periodic review and renewal process poses a
potential risk to the dynamism and inclusivity of our community. I would
like to express my full support for the need to address governance issues
within the UASG. It is imperative that we take concrete steps to ensure
that leadership roles are regularly reviewed and renewed, fostering a more
diverse and inclusive representation within the working groups.

For quite some time, the community has been voicing its concerns about the
need for the leadership team to address governance issues. In light of
this, I strongly advocate for a revision of the terms for working group
chairs and vice chairs, with a maximum term of 2 years. Following this
period, individuals should be encouraged to take a rest period, allowing
for the infusion of fresh perspectives and the involvement of new
contributors. Thus those who has completed their two years on December 31,
2023 must their own stepdown.

I believe that adopting such a policy will not only enhance the
effectiveness of our working groups but also reinforce the democratic
principles that underpin the UASG.

My two cents,

Huyen Le Khac
